Attention

FYI, this week's Deadline #1 covers the first two games, since there is also a game on Saturday (deadline #1 covers all games played before Sunday). So if you take advantage of the split deadline, make sure to pick for both Games 1 & 2.

Thursday, December 17
1. Indianapolis Colts
Some people are calling this a trap-game for the Colts, but I'm not buying it. Get this: this will be the first time ALL SEASON that a Jaguars opponent enters the game with a winning record.

Saturday, December 19
2. New Orleans Saints
Sean Payton has that good kind of cockiness, and he will be going for 16-0. Besides, the Saints still haven't clinched homefield.

Sunday, December 20
3. Baltimore Ravens
Yeah, Jay Cutler's a mess, but the Bears are not a very good team and their middling-to-poor defense is a big reason why.

4. Tennessee Titans
Since the start of November, the Titans are 6-1 and the Dolphins 5-2. But whereas the Titans' only loss was by 10 points, on the road, against the undefeated Colts, the Dolphins have actually been OUTSCORED their past seven games, 146-154.

5. Arizona Cardinals
The Lions are actually 2-2 in games decided by single digits. Of course, in their other nine games they're 0-9 and have been blown out to the tune of 21 ppg, but let's stick to the non-suicidally-depressing factoids.

6. Houston Texans
Meaningless late-season game? Check. Bad opponent? Check. The Texans ALWAYS look like juggernauts in these situations.

7. Kansas City Chiefs
The Browns and Chiefs are a combined 3-0 when they hold their opponents to less than seven points. So, hey, that's something, I guess. But let's be honest: I'd be more likely to watch my TIVOed NCAA Division II Championship game than this stinker.

8. Philadelphia Eagles
Talk about under-the-radar: anyone else realise the Eagles have the #3 offense in the NFL (behind the Saints and Vikings)? I was kinda hoping the Cardinals would come back to beat the Niners last Monday night, because I really wanted to see Mike Singletary erupt in the press conference: "THEY ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE!"

9. New York Jets
Pass defense. It's important. The Falcons are 30th in passing yards allowed, 31st in opponents' QB rating, and 32nd in pass plays of 20+ yards allowed. Stop looking at Matt Ryan's injury: it's not the cause of this team going in the toilet.

10. Buffalo Bills
While we're on the subject... which defense has the most interceptions in the NFL? Yep, the Bills (25). Which defense had the best passing TDs allowed to interceptions taken margin in the NFL? Yep, the Bills (+15: 10 TDs, 25 INTs). With Randy Moss quitting on his team, Brady targeting Welker on almost every pass, and the rough Buffalo winter weather, I think the Patriots might be in for a long day. Just a hunch.

11. Denver Broncos
Isn't it fitting that Jamarcus Russell wears #2, considering that #2 is a euphemism for you-know-what?

12. Cincinnati Bengals
Winner gets #2 seed in the AFC. Oh, I think the Chargers will win, but I try to always pick against them so that I at least have a consolation prize if they don't.

13. Green Bay Packers
The Packers and Steelers are both in the bottom five in sacks allowed, and I'm not sure Aaron Rodgers will be spending a lot of time upright. But once you lose to the Browns, there's no way I'm picking you until you beat someone.

14. Seattle Seahawks
Ten, twenty, fifty years from now, the one result from the 2009-2010 season that no one will understand: Bucs 38, Packers 28. The Bucs haven't even reached 24 in any onther game, and have been held under 20 eight times.

15. Minnesota Vikings
Carolina has ten players on the IR, including most of their two lines. Battered OL, backup QB versus Minnesota's pass rush? Oh, this one could get mighty ugly.

Monday, December 21
16. Washington Redskins
Season on the line, and your defense gives up 45 points? Giants' defense is allowing over 32 ppg in their last eight games (2-6).

Bonus Question 1: What will be the Point Spread of Game# 15 ( Minnesota Vikings vs Carolina Panthers )? 24

Bonus Question 2: What will be the Final Total Points of Game# 16 ( New York Giants vs Washington Redskins )? 38
