As you guys know this years offseason for the NBA has been a wild one.. players moving around, coaches getting fired, and teams are getting more competitive in the west.. to those who are fans for any east teams, sorry guys this year won't be your year... THE WEST IS LOADED WITH TALENT!!

My top pick this year to win it all is the LAKERS... hopefully this KObe case will get settled real soon and we won't have to wait an entire season to see what the outcome will be, but other than that they made the best offseason moves.. i know one can argue and say that minnesota or san antontio had successful offseasons, but they can't even match up to the guys the Lakers brought in...

Ok first of all the Spurs did not achieve what they had to do this offseason because they did not get jason kidd.. they lost a big time defender when they lost stephen jackson, they did a good job replacing that spot with scorers, but in actuality they need a defender to guard kobe... they do have a lot of weapons but how well these team works together is another story.. they still aren't that elite fourth quarter team that they need to be to beat the Lakers...

Minnesota did a great job to assure themselves that they will get to the second round this year... but cassel is known for hogging the ball and with a superstar like KG on your team you cannot afford to have him hog the ball... i like the pick up of olawakandi because he is big rebounding precense that they were kind of lacking last year... dont get me wrong nesteravich can rebound, but he is not as THICK as the kandi man is... sprewell is only a good pick up because it will move wally to his natural position of shooting guard...

As for the Lakers.. they picked up two great college players and filled a void in the back up power foward position... i believe luke walton is one of the most fundementally sound player.. he is a great passer, rebounder, and scorer.... come on kobe, shaq, payton, malone on the same team.. good Lord.. i believe payton and malone are at that stage in their career where they could care less whether that had 40 plus points in a game... basically they want to win a championship and by joining the Lakers it will happen... A kindegardner could play on this team and they still would win...

What do you guys think?

The only thing I have to say about basket ball right now is our band better practice this year and not lose our band vs choir basket ball game. But that's not what you wanted to talk about. Oh well. It is about the sport though.

For some reason, I just don't see the Lakers winning it this year. Maybe San Antonio. Maybe Minnesota. Maybe (longshot) Dallas.

I don't really see the Kings winning it, either. I don't think the Kings stand a chance as long as their main man is "Glass" Webber (and I'm talking about his bone structure, not his rebounding ability).

My friend is a Steve Nash fan. He had his hair like him, but cut it because the Mavericks lost. However, he cut it BEFORE they lost..

BTW, I saw somewhere that he was born in South Africa. :?:

Also, my pick is the Lakers. It would be cool seeing a different team winning again, but I'm staying faithful to my hometeam.

Speaking of b-ball, I also really hope the Dodgers can make the top of the wild card, but I think their massive losses in midseason set them back.

Why'd you bring that up? The bad memories.........
Hey, we would have won last year if it weren't for the parents game actually counting!
