Great Band and finally a great team...
But yes. The do have a great band, and a solid team this year. Much like last year, but like I said, I think the media has thrown them out of proportion.

Can't argue with you there. In fact, my girlfriend was urged NOT to join the marching band when she went to USC, for fear it would teach her "bad habits." Musical bad habits, too.

i saw the cal game yesterday against USM (southern mississippi) and it was aite - 34-2 or so by the end in favor of cal... the one thing i knwo is that I am kinda happy not to have joined cal band... they're not bad or anything - they just... aren't very entertaining on the field... standstill they're great but... marching... i really dont know... their drill is easy (which would be expected since they do a new show every home game) and their music kinda drowsy and that cant be heard very well up in the stands.... not at ALL like drum corps sound... (that pure bliss *sigh*) hahaha

In light of the game or should I say USC practice with a whole bunch of Auburn fans and some Auburn players standing on the field watching the ball fly over their heads or being run past them, I think that USC is a serious contender for the national championship I think USC will also go undefeated this year and as for their quarterback, Matt Leinart will not be another Carson Palmer, but instead a quarterback in his own right.

Oh and about the band...
No one can argue about the fact that The Spirit of Troy is a really loud marching band however, they are the most entertaining band in the Pac-10 unless you consider making fools out of your self entertaining (Stanford) It is arguable the amount of skill it takes to play the type of music that USC is famous for, but I challange any of you to memorize and play correctly all of the music that they play week in and week out at pregame, during the game, halftime, and at postgame I personaly would consider it an honor to be part of that band program.

Fight On! and I will see you at the National Championship

Has anybody seen the rankings recently?

well as of today the "over-rated" USC Trojans
are now ranked NUMBER 3!!!

there opponents have only scored 50 points in their last three games combined
to USC's 119, once again pretty good for an "over-rated" team or should I say..

UNDER RATED

FIGHT ON!

I think USC is playing great ball, they looked good against Hawaii. I am pissed that my team, Texas, got beat by Arkansas. It seems like they are playing one dimensionally, NO RUNNING GAME!!!!! So far Cedric Benson is a huge disappointment. I think Coach Brown should have put in Vince Young at quarterback, because he knows how to run and Chance Mock doesn't. Oh well, maybe next time.

I might be seeing the SDSU vs UCLA game on Sept. 27th. I'm from San Diego but UCLA is a fellow UC so the question is who to cheer for. I haven't been to a college game in so long and I'm looking forward to it.

You know, I must admit. I am impressed by USC, and even though UCLA only won by a field goal, I'm still impressed that they managed to win.

Look for San Diego State to pull off the upset. Normally SDSU gets abused by the PAC-10 schools, but the Aztecs played (an overrated) Ohio State tough, and UCLA has looked ugly so far this season.
