Arnold has proposed increasing our taxes.

http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/stat ... udget.html

"Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger on Thursday proposed billions in spending cuts and a temporary 1.5 percent sales tax increase to close a worsening state budget deficit, a plan that will leave Californians paying more to buy a car, take their children to Disneyland or attend a Dodgers game next season. "

A temporary tax increase? Sure, sure ... :x

As an Econ Major I can tell you that increasing taxes, even temporarily, is a death sentence to any politician. Also it is a great way to promote the Black Markets and Barter Systems and raise prices overall (which we do NOT need at the moment). This doesn't solve anything except possibly underscoring the disgust with our State Legislators and Governator.

So ... anyone want to trade me 2 jars of peach jam for a dozen eggs from your backyard chickens? :yeah:

And at the same time, our legislators have given themselves a pay raise. And this just after they received their bonuses for not doing their job. They obviously are serious about fixing the deficit. In Tuesdays election, did you vote for anyone with an inc. (incumbent) after their name?

I can do mint for some pommegranates. Gonna make jelly from both. Mmmmmm.

On a side related thread ... makes me wonder which pork our new increased taxes are going to pay for. Obviously it isn't the Music Arts. In a way I'm glad hubby didn't make the school board.

The people in Sacremento give themselves raises, drive around in fancy government cars, we just voted to pass propositions that spend more money. At least Prop 11 passed... Now we can hold them accountable for what they do now.

I think I can barter my next grape crop for a goat down the street, then we could trade that for a sheep. We'll sneak around those higher taxes somehow!!
