Steve Wozniak (co-founder of Apple with Steve Jobs) is part of a group that does segway polo in one of the local parks. I'm sure that happens quite a bit.

i don't think it would happen all that often. The fall wasn't caused by bad Segway dynamics, it was because the two of them collided. After a bit of practice as competitive Segway'ers, you could probably learn to recover from the bumps easily.
