1. St. Louis Rams @ Atlanta Falcons
If the Falcons win and the Panthers lose, the Falcons will be the #2 seed in the NFC, complete with a first-round bye and at least one playoff home game. That's a lot to play for. This should be the lock of the week... shouldn't it?

2. Jacksonville Jaguars @ Baltimore Ravens
The Jaguars are a franchise in complete disarray. David Garrard is NOT a QB of the future, the defense is in shambles, and supposed smart coach Jack Del Rio doesn't even have a winning record in the regular season over the past three years. They've gone 2-4 in their division three seasons in a row now and, believe it or not, are showing bad signs of becoming perennial cellar-dwellers.

3. New England Patriots @ Buffalo Bills
This is a must-win game for the Pats, no way they're letting off the gas here. The Patriots could win this game, finish 11-5 with no Tom Brady, and still miss the playoffs. What a crazy season.

4. Kansas City Chiefs @ Cincinnati Bengals
If there's any silver lining to the Bengals' season, it's that their running game has looked more and more competent with every week. Bengals went 5 for 9 passing for 55 yards against the Browns and won. Those are service academy passing stats.

5. Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers
0-15. One game left at Lambeau Field, where they haven't won since 1991. Yes, 1991. One more game, and then the title of "worst team in NFL history" will be theirs and theirs alone. Lee Roy Selmon and Steve Spurrier have the champagne on ice. Come on, Lions, don't screw this up now.

6. Chicago Bears @ Houston Texans
Bears are fighting for their playoff lives. A win, coupled with a Vikings loss at the Giants (not inconceivable) and the Bears are NFC North champions. But the Bears are 2-4 in their past six road games, and those wins have been at Detroit (0-15) and St. Louis (2-13). Uh oh.

7. Tennessee Titans @ Indianapolis Colts
Titans' defense coordinator Jim Schwartz called me up to laugh in my face over my premature declaration that the Titans were finished without Albert Haynesworth. I forgot that Jim Schwartz runs defenses like Bill Belichick: a well-planned scheme with interchangable parts. Someone goes down? Someone else steps up with nary a hitch. Colts have won eight in a row... but the last six against teams with a combined record of 26-63-1 (an average of 4-10-1). And they've STRUGGLED to do it, winning four of those six by a touchdown or less. Nope, I still think the Colts are a paper tiger, and one and done in the playoffs.

8. New York Giants @ Minnesota Vikings
You're nuts if you think the Giants are going to let up now that they clinched home-field advantage. Momentum going into the playoffs is vital. Just ask the 2007 New York Giants.

9. Carolina Panthers @ New Orleans Saints
Panthers are playing for a first-round bye and the #2 seed in the NFC. Which they need, badly, because they have not performed well on the road this season, and if they lose they'll be the #5 seed (likely three road games in the playoffs). But the Saints have been good at home and have beaten a few superior teams in the dome already this season.

10. Miami Dolphins @ New York Jets
Mets, Jets... if you're from New York and have a nickname ending in E-T-S, it seems like a late season melt-down is inevitable. Brett Favre's career has not been overrated, but his performance this season sure has been. A Pro Bowl? Seriously? This guy is DONE. QB rating under 80 and more turnovers than touchdowns in eight of his last eleven games. Take away one freak afternoon against the Cardinals and he's got 20 turnovers and 15 touchdowns for the season. And this Dolphins' squad (led by dumped Jet Chad Pennington) sure isn't lacking for motivation to put a beat-down on their rivals.

11. Dallas Cowboys @ Philadelphia Eagles
You all know I'm not sold on the Cowboys. Maybe it's their +35 point differential, the second-worst of the thirteen teams with nine or more wins. Maybe it's Tony Romo's alarming penchant for wilting against tough defenses and making game-crippling mistakes. But I just think that, with as much as these two teams hate each other, and with the extreme likelihood that Philly will be staying home in January, that the Eagles would LOVE nothing more than to ruin the Cowboys' post-season hopes, too.

12. Cleveland Browns @ Pittsburgh Steelers
I'm not sure there's a more overrated QB in the NFL than Ben Roethlisberger. When the Steelers win, it is as often in spite of him as because of him (a 22.6 QB rating in the Super Bowl? Seriously?). He's a game manager, a guy who you hope plays solid and doesn't screw things up. He's not a Peyton Manning or a Tom Brady who can take over a game. Two of the past three seasons (2006 and 2008) he's had more turnovers than touchdowns. But hey, that's for next week. The Browns haven't scored an offensive touchdown in five games. You read that right. FIVE GAMES. What, did they trade for some of the Raiders' players?

13. Oakland Raiders @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Texans' WR Andre Johnson had eaten the NFL alive this season. Then he ran into the Raiders' Nnamdi Asomugha. Johnson got two catches for 19 yards. His lowest total since December 31st, 2006. There is no better cornerback in the NFL than Asomugha. Not the badly overrated Champ Bailey. Not the promising Cortland Finnegan. Not veterans Charles Woodson and Asante Samuel. The Bucs, however, are one Dallas Cowboys victory away from missing the playoffs, becoming the first 9-3 team to miss the playoffs since re-alignment.

14. Seattle Seahawks @ Arizona Cardinals
Arizona's 1-4 in their past five games and cannot affect their playoff seeding (#4), so they have nothing to play for here. Seattle's going for a road sweep of the NFC Worst. The division's pathetic and the game will be worse.

15. Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers
So, which has the higher survival rate: Broncos running back or Spinal Tap drummer?

16. Washington Redskins @ San Francisco 49ers
Niners are 4-2 in their past six games. With the pathetic state of the NFC West, is there any reason to think they can't contend for a division title next season? If Mike Singletary isn't brought back as head coach, the Bay Area should go after Scot McCloughan and the York family with torches and pitchforks.

Bonus Question 1: What will be the Point Spread of Game# 15 ( Denver Broncos vs San Diego Chargers )? 10

Bonus Question 2: What will be the Final Total Points of Game# 16 ( Washington Redskins vs San Francisco 49ers )? 38

....Best game ever....hate the Cowboys. Overall I'd have to say I was really pleased with today in Football. And the 49ers are supposed to be signing Mike Singletary to a 5-year contract tomorrow! Now if only the Niners could figure out a way to free up some space on the salary cap and sign Matt Cassel, that would be awesome. If not, then Shaun Hill will be ok, if he works on protecting the ball more.
