Wow. Over a year after the conclusion of Season X, and long after everyone had given it up for dead, FMB is back.
Season XI will begin on September 1st. I know, a ways away, but we're basically trying to recreate the entire league from scratch.

Well, since they're rebuilding this game from scratch, I can't exactly say how this one is going to work. That said...
The Drum Corps Planet website's fantasy drum corps games works as follows: you choose a corps for each caption, but you only have "x" amount of points to spend. Corps' point values are assigned based on previous year(s) placements. So for this season, Blue Devils cost 25 per caption, The Cadets cost 24, The Cavaliers cost 23... etc. because those corps finished 1st, 2nd, 3rd in 2007. It averages out to each person only getting 17-18 points to spend per caption, so if you take the Blue Devils in one caption, you might have to take, say, Pacific Crest in another to balance the point cost out. The current season is a "live" season, so your fantasy score is directly linked to what the "real" corps are scoring, with a 5% variance. Thus, if you have the Blue Devils for Visual GE, and they score 15.000 in Visual GE at a show, your Visual GE score for that day's fantasy show could be between 14.250 and 15.750. Etc.
The previous Fantasy Marching Band site worked on a similar concept: using points to fill captions... only the points weren't connected to any real-life ensemble. Instead, it was more video game style: everyone got X amount of points to use, and instead of applying them to Strength, Health, Attack, etc. you applied them to Musical Performance, GE, Percussion, etc. As the season went on you got more points and could improve captions accordingly.
