Well this morning was just outstanding before 2ish. Now it's looking gloomy and we did pass through Escondido and yea it was just bad. (The aftermath of the fire.) So who knows when the rain will fall here. In the mountains, they have gotten so much snow! Lucky mountain people haha.

The wind and clouds have moved in here over South Riverside County.

I too tire of "Drizzle Watch 2008" which is just a way of me saying our local media hypes the heck out of ANYTHING weather related--even if it's a drizzle. But...as a closet weather geek, and of course, being part of the fire service and very much "plugged in" to meteorology, I can say that if this thing hits tonight like it's supposed to, we may get our butts handed to us. There WILL be flooding.

Problem is, weather is constant evolving and ever-changing, literally up to the last minute. So, while it SEEMS like this is going to be a really bad storm, something literally can happen at the last minute and this will be a non-event. I have learned in the world of weather that the only accurate "forecast" is to say what's happening at any ONE TIME. Looking ahead...ehhhh...50/50.

Me too. I like all the rain we have been getting. As I sit here on WoP it has started to rain again. It is so nice hearing it on the roof of my house and to hear it beating on the windows as the wind blows the rain around. Too bad it only rains in So Cal once every 11 months, haha!!

It's been raining HEAVILY here in SLO since last Monday. Winds have been strong enough to blow cars around on the road (just means you have to be more careful, and steer into the wind :-D).

It was like our annual amount of rain in a week. Was fun. Everything is all green now and there is snow EVERYWHERE on the mountains and it has been so CLEAR. Its times like that when you go "This is why I live in Southern California!". I mean, look one way, we have the beach. Look the other way, beautiful mountains covered in snow.

And then 2 weeks from now when its all hot and smogy, we will all wonder why we live in SoCal and put up with it. So true...
