Good band but I'm not that big of a fan. Seen them live but they didn't do much for me.

My bass player is a big fan of them. So far the best live shows I've seen are:

Machine Head
Testament ( John Tempesta on drums and Alex back in the fold on guitar)
Pantera (When Philip would shut his piehole and let the band play)
Damageplan
Any Band with Dino Cazares (Fear Factory, Brujeria, Asesino, and Divine Heresy)
GWAR
Strapping Young Lad
My Band (well, when we finally find a name! )
Horns up kids!

I only listen to "In Keeping Secrets of A Silent Earth 3"... good song.

as for the rest... over-hyped, cheesy combination of vague concepts, too-epic guitar riffs, and annoying singing...

good live show, though.

wtf?
claudio sanchez is also a comic book artist. all his music is based on that. Coheed and Cambria are actually the two main characters.
look up The Amory Wars
and try doing a littlde research so you actually know what you're talking about before you go around spouting off ignorat criticizms k?

coheed is almost as overated as dragonforce. i saw them about a month ago with clutch as the opening band (who i was mainly there to see) and even their live show didn't convince me otherwise.

okay?

I own all of their albums. My friend similarly believes they are amazing, and lent me all of them to try and sway me over to his side. I'm aware of the comic book, and the basic gist of the storyline. Besides the concept, I already stated that the music is just cheesy... and people are calling them the next Led Zeppelin? Hardly.

wisdom teeth suck, sorry about that.

I think Sublime is probably my favorite band. But lately I've really been digging Secondhand Serenade, if you haven't heard him, you need to check out his music (myspace.com/secondhandserenade), new CD coming out on Feb. 5th and I can't wait.

All of Secondhand Serenade's songs sound the same to me. Great singer though... I thought emo was dead? lol.

Actually Secondhand Serenade's first album was all one guy (Jon Vesely), he was responsible for all the singing, guitar, and piano. Now that his first CD got him noticed, his new CD coming out in February he has added orchestration and a full band. This will add to the "variety" of his music, but all his songs aren't the same IMO.

I have a shirt that says, "Rock is Dead" and then underneath it says "Long live paper and scissors."

a band that i've really been digging lately is called Pure Reason Revolution (http://www.myspace.com/purereasonrevolution). british progressive rock along the lines of Porcupine Tree and Blackfield. i was hooked since my first hearing of their album The Dark Third, plus some of the best vocal harmonies i've ever heard.
