Now I know its a day late and about thirty-three cents short, but you could always just disable javascript next year when you're on WoP during the holidays. Click Tools, Internet Options, Security, Custom Level, Scroll down to Scripting, and turn off "Active Scripting".

Mine doesn't slow down at all either. I have an iMac. You too should get a Mac.
