WOP MU Year-End Celebration Thread / Nominations and Voting!

Since the MU's currently post at the beginning of the month and it doesn't really include what happened that month, they will be posted at the end of the month starting this month. This will also give plenty of time for the voting that will take place starting about Dec 15th.

Ok so I wanted to make this one special because it's the first Year-end MU ever!! So here's what we're going to do... In this thread you guys have to nominate for the awards and then voting will take place starting on the 15th. So you have until the 15th to make your nominations. This will also hopefully increase voter turnout because usually no one votes... and sometimes one person.

Nominations will be made for:

Movie of the Year:
Popular music song of the Year:
[WOP]Icon of the Year:
[WOP]Signature of the Year:
[WOP]Thread of the Year:
[WOP]User of the Year:

Just copy that and then post it in this thread. Nominations will be public and voting will take place via PM.

Also, feel free to nominate for other awards if you want and if enough people nominate for the award you create it will be added! As you can tell, they don't have to be WOP related.

The top 5 with the most nominations will be the candidates for the final voting which will take place between December 15th through December 30th. The voting will be where you vote for your top 3 choices out of the 5 and your number one pick will get 3 points, 2nd will get 2 and 3rd pick will get 1 point. Simply get the most points to win the award.

*You don't need to be in the MU in order to participate... all members of the forum are encouraged to participate!*

Of course the usual MU Statistics will be included on the 31st when it is finally posted. Oh yeah.. and look for the 2008 Interview signups in another thread.

I really encourage EVERYONE to participate in nominations/voting because the more we have the more fun it is for everyone!!! So get out there and VOTE!

The signature one is a hard one, since once a person changes their signature it retroactively applies to all of their past posts, too.

I know you said there's no point in re-nominating, but I'm just being honest (or lazy, since I don't feel like scouring the forums for different answers).

Movie of the Year: Can I talk this out?? Process of elimination style?? I CAN!?!?! Spiderman 3 and Transformers--two of the STUPIDEST movies on the planet....GONE!!!!!! Whew!! That made things easier. Now it's down to between a slightly confusing but ultimately well-acted and very interesting Pirates III, or the very history-liberal but unbelievably acted and stylistically superior...The 300. Hmm that's a good idea... but it kinda died out. I really think it's good we took a break from that because people got burnt out! It's probably a good time to get back into that perhaps....
