Happy Halloween!!

Post by FluteOfTheNewWorld » Wed Oct 31, 2007 4:20 pm

Have fun giving candy out to the tricker treaters, or if you are going trick or treating, have fun!! People shouldn't start coming around for about 1.5-2 more hours in Southern California because it's only like 4:20!

My daughter is a "vixen" and prop assistant in the play Dracula at the Rialto Community Playhouse. They are having a special show tonight, so she's not here. My youngest is dressed as a 1940's Rosie the Riveter and is taking her friend's younger sister around for candy. Leaves me at home with the significant other to hand stuff out and vegge in front of the TV watching Nightmare Before Christmas. Eek!

There's a special engagement of The Nightmare Before Chirstmas 3D at the theater here in SLO. I might go see that.
It's 5:00... do you know where your ancestors came from?

Same in Temecula but the tickets are so expensive just because it's in 3-D but I bet it's worth it. I've seen the original and it's a Halloween classic.

But anywayz....I didn't go tirck-or-treating but I hope nobody comes knocking at like 11 or so. I'll be asleep soon so that doorbell is going to get really annoying.

I took my brother and like all the houses are completely dark. So I was like there's no point in where I live...I was going to go to Harvest but it would've been for an hour by the time I brought it up so yea...

In conclusion, haha, my Halloween was filled w/ Halo and hw. :)

I am probably one of the few Americans who does not celebrate Halloween. I won't go into the reasons, since I want to keep it light here. There are many other things that happened on October 31:
  • 1587 - - Martin Luther posted his 95 theses on the door of the church in Wittenberg, Germany, starting the German Protestant Reformation...

1864 - - Nevada entered the Union as the 36th state...

1892 - - Arthur Conan Doyle publishes The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes

    1926 - - Houdini died.

1936 - - The Boy Scouts started in the Philippines...

1938 - - Orson Welles tries to explain why the Martians didn't really attack a rural area near Princeton, New Jersey, the night before...

1941 - - Mount Rushmore is completed... eh, sort of...

1941 - - The Reuben James, a US Navy destroyer, was torpedoed by a German U-boat near Iceland... These were among the first US casualties of World War II...

1961 - - Stalin's body is removed from its glass sarcophagus at Lenin's tomb in Moscow and buried...

    1975 - - Queen releases Bohemian Rhapsody

    1984 - - Indira Gandhi assassinated...

2000 - - Singapore Airlines Flight 006 has a crash at Taipei, Taiwan... 79 passengers and four crew members killed...
