Wow! Look at how far the smoke has traveled. Just using other landmarks, it appears to have gone over 1000 miles out to sea. That's crazy.

I remember when I used to live in Foothill and there was a fire in the same area thats burning now. My dad told me and my brother to pick things we want to save just in case we had to evacuate. Me and my bro started backing up our qbasic (i was 8 years old) source code into floppies lol.

Red Sunsets aren't caused by smoke. It's an effect that has to do with the suns position on the horizon. Here's more info.

Smoke in Central Valley

Post by rmalum » Sat Oct 27, 2007 11:12 pm

We have had smoke here for about 3 days. Odd thing thoough... it rained here in Visalia today. It's been raining as far north as Turlock. Too bad the rain didn't hit So. Cal. They could sure use it.

Everyone in So. Cal. is in our thoughts and prayers.

I live in Ventura county, a little bit southwest of all the Santa Clarita fires, and it rained here on and off all day as well, as I'm pretty sure was the case in most of So cal... definitely some weird weather lately.
