SUMMIT DRUM & BUGLE CORPS ANNOUNCES 2005 PRODUCTION

Reno, NV. January 7, 2004. The Summit Drum & Bugle Corps from Reno/Sparks, Nevda (the first corps in Nevada’s history) announces their 2005 production of Richard Rodger’s and Oscar Hammerstein’s “South Pacific”. The program will feature timeless and well-known melodies from numbers such as: “Nothin Like A Dame”, “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair” and “Some Enchanted Evening”.

The brass book will be arranged by SYA’s Director of Brass, Bo Dingus (Blue Devils) with the percussion book arranged by Chris Haskell. Visual Design will be by Visual Caption Head Chris Chang (Blue Devils) and Terry Pritchard (Star of Indiana).

Corpd Director Brent Cooper helped obtain licensing rights from Williamson Music and the Rodgers and Hammerstein Foundation. “This is the perfect show for Summit this season. It will be a mix of Polynesian/South Pacific sights and souds with music that most of our audiences will recognize immediately. When we listened to the track, we knew immediately that this show would translate very nicely to the field. And we want to thank Williamson Music for working with us this season to bring this exciting program to the drum corps community.”

Summit Drum & Bugle Corps was recently approved for membership in the Drum Corps Pacific circuit and is preparing for their formal evaluation this spring. The corps is scheduled to perform at six shows throughout Northern California and Nevada, including their home show, the Sierra Capital Drum Corps Classic in July.
