Favourite Division 1 Ballad

Post by formermarcher » Wed Nov 17, 2004 11:21 am

Hey ya'll. I know we've had the "whats your favorite drum crops show" and things like that, but I'd like to know what some of your favourite drum corp ballads are.
"It is your destiny to be the leader who uses this event to rally a city, a nation...a world"

"Its not what you do or what you say, but HOW you do it that matters the most"

1982--Cavaliers--Softly As I Leave You--one of the greatest TRUE ballads ever...

Any year--Spirit of Atlanta--Let It Be--oh my.

These are back in the days when ballads used to be the closer...and the closer used to be the concert piece, and the opener was the "off the line", and and and....

Oh I'll stop now...

Is that the 1985 ballad?? If so...yes, quite possibly the MOST beautiful moment ever in DCI history...

Yeah, except for that bass drummer that didn't cut off with the rest of Vanguard. That was a bummer.

There's always an "except" isn't there Phantom...I don't remember hearing that release...I guess it was somewhat similar in that sense to 99's big release in the ballad. Didn't really get to hear that one either...probably due to the crowd response during the cresendo and into the release...(I guess their was a late mellphone release).

Lets not get into releases though...else we'd need to start talking about the kings of horrid releases...The Phantom Regiment.
