I'm assuming so, so I changed it. 8-)

As for me, my very close 2nd favorite corps is the Santa Clara Vanguard.

My favorite corps? Well, you'll just have to guess... ;)

umm..a better question would be who is your favorite drum corps and why?

we can always say we like so and so, but unless you have valid reasons to back it up, who cares...

so lets here it :D

personally i'm a fan of vanguard...why? they have tradition that few others carry through with (ON and OFF the field), and they are very modest and humble...have you ever talked to someone in vanguard? if you haven't you should..nicest people, seriously...one of the few corps who doesn't flaunt their success and acheivements....but thats just my opinion..

favorite corps

I actually have 3 favorite corps that I have enjoyed beacuse they constantly put out the most entertaining and great all around shows (in my opinion).

In order:

1. Carolina Crown: Love the new look! I have absolutely loved every show I have seen by them, and their style encompasses everything I want in a drum corps. I hope to be a part of this organization in the future (maybe even 2004!)

2. Phantom Regiment: Who doesn't like this corps? Once again I have loved every show I have seen by them. 2003 was absolutely amazing, my favorite Phantom show, followed by 1996. This is such an outstanding corps that thrills me every year.

3. Blue Knights: I love their style, no matter how many people think otherwise. Their marching technique is awesome, I have enjoyed their shows and hope that they will make it back into finals next year (almost did it this year!!). The body movement is cool too, their sound is nice, percussion rocks.

The Madison Scouts and Impulse!!!
1995-2003 are really good for Scouts, and Impulse do things that are not seen in drum corps and they do it well.
Back to the fields...

Favorite Corps?

1. Santa Clara, Vanguard
2. Troopers (for sentimental reasons)
3. Anaheim Kingsmen
4. Velvet Knights

Unfortunatly, two of these corps are no longer with us. As I think of it, many of the corps that I like are no longer with us. (27th Lancers, Freelancers, Spirit of Atlanta) sigh...

Spirit of Atlanta is still around. They took a year off in 1994, but they've been around and competed every other year since their original one. Spirit moved to Jacksonville, AL a few years back and hooked up with Jacksonville State University (JSU). They have a new location and new instructors, but the same baby-blue uniforms, and it's the same organization. They're also back in Finals for the first time in over a decade: they finished 10th in 2002 and 12th in 2003.

Santa Clara Vanguard right here, well, for division 1. I love their style and just their whole attitudes. Their show may not be great, but you can tell they're having fun.

Division 2 would have to be Esperanza. I've been following them for the past two years and they are quite remarkable. They've come a long way and have proved that they are great. That and I hope to join this summer so that's a big one.

Ahhhh, I see. I lost track of Spirit of Atlanta for a few years, then the Spirit of JSU came on the scene, and I didn't connect them. Well, good for them, but..... they just don't seem the same.

My favorite is Star of Indiana. If they were still around I would go there in a heartbeat. My favorite, currently active drum corps, are the Blue Devils and the Santa Clara Vanguard.
