2001 Vanguard Cadets question

Post by Zpull » Tue Nov 25, 2003 5:28 pm

I'm looking for a recording of the 2001 Vanguard Cadets. Does anyone have any ideas on where to locate a cd recording from that season?

Also, there opener that season was called "Tempered Steel" by Charles Rochester Young. Does anyone know as well where to obtain a recording of this other than a recording of the Vanguard Cadets?

Thanks>

Can't help you on 2001 Vanguard Cadets.

For a recording of the actual "Tempered Steel," Eugene Corporan has put out a quality recording with the University of North Texas Wind Symphony. The album is "Sojourns" and can be found at: http://www.klavier-records.com/kwp2.htm.

Yamato also performed tempered steel in 2001 as part of our "2nd act"

There's a recording of it in our media section at http://www.yamatodrumcorps.org

But I remember SCV Cadets's version, and it was a pretty good one. They were only touring locally that year, so it would be pretty difficult to find a recording of it.

Best person to maybe ask would be Dave Schaafsma.
