City Sound Drum & Bugle Corps 2010 Season:
Be a part of the Legacy!

Open House

Date: Wednesday, December 9, 2009
Time: 7:30PM to 9:30PM
Place: HYPE/City Sound Headquarters
7272 Cerritos Ave.
Stanton, CA 90680

Don't miss the chance to see City Sound's 2010 all-star staff roster, including DCI Legends Richard ”Rocco” Oliverio, and Tom and Catherine Float. Come meet our team at our Open House and see what City Sound is all about. Parents and Band Directors are urged to come.

Auditions

Date: Sunday, December 13, 2009
Time: 2:00PM to 4:30PM
Place: HYPE/City Sound Headquarters
7272 Cerritos Ave.
Stanton, CA 90680

Be on time and wear comfortable clothes and shoes for marching. Bring water and anything else you might need for the day.

Brass performers need to bring their own mouthpiece and gloves. They may also bring their own instrument.

Brass auditionee’s must be able to perform exercises that we will provide.

Theses exercises will demonstrate their tone and pitch control, flexibility, articulation styles, dynamic expression, range, and musical acumen. Exercises will be available in bass and treble clef. Everyone will be sight-reading!

If they can perform a musical selection of their own choice that would be tremendously beneficial in allowing us to evaluate their musical prowess.

Auditions will be a fun experience where every auditionee will have an opportunity to augment their technical skills for our National Championship staff.

Request an audition spot by writing to info@city-sound.org. Please include your name, instrument, and contact information in your email. Spots are limited and will be assigned first come first serve.

(Audition fee of $25.00 is required.)

Call for additional information (323) 228-7231

The Open House and Audition was great. Thanks for asking.

We introduced the new members and their parents to our program and gave them a tour of our new building. They loved the equipment and the facility.

Because of high school and college band program conflicts, a few potential members contacted us informing us they would not be able to attend. For these people we were able to arrange private auditions.

Additionally, we will be having a workshop on January 30th from 1pm-6pm at our head quarters. Richard Oliverio will run the brass workshop and Tom and Catherin Float will run the percussion workshop. So is not too late for anyone who missed us last week.
