PacCrest camp notes

Post by PSeidling » Sun Feb 08, 2009 9:12 pm

Notes from this weekend's Pacific Crest camp:

I write this as a psuedo-corps parent, as my wife and I are hosting at our home a 20-yr old snare drummer from Brazil who has made a spot in PC's snare line, so I've been at a few camps now.

This past weekends camp, though a bit wet, was fun to witness. Some highlights:

-A big, full nearly 80-person brass line in attendance. Some serious trumpet players in the line.
-Drum line full and solid. 9 snares with a great technique already happening.
-High energy opener that is really fun, well paced and keeps you on your toes..
-New uniform proto-type (ok, here I am must admit to being a little self-serving :? ) was at camp and is very nice. Definately a head-turner and a bold step-out for the corps.

I think DC fans will like this corps this summer.
