Freelancers??

So I have heard rumors that they might field this summer as a "Kingsmen-esqe" type corps. But have not heard much else. Does anyone know anything about this? I know that they have had a hornline working for awhile now... and there was talk about a guard starting in September.

I also know that their Winter Percussion group will be inactive this year and that they are having some bingo troubles.

But what I want to know is if there is a Sr. Corps in the works??? Because that would make my millenium!

I heard the same thing Jen--I know they had some horn rehearsals with some alumni. Don't know the status. And I think it would be a cold day in you know where if they tried to start a JUNIOR corps, but a senior corps may not be out of the question, especially with the demise of River City Regiment.

They have been having rehearsals for the hornline in both Northern and Southern CA.
The drumline has been meeting in NoCal.
And it is Alumni & Friends.

Don't know what the future plans are though.

I got an email today from a Freelancers alum ... it's an invitation to join the "Freelancers, Friends and anyone who can spin" to do the Sacramento Santa Parade. One rehearsal Friday night and the gig on the Saturday morning after Thanksgiving. The guard has to start somewhere

Urgh! I got that same email too! I can't do it. My kiddies are performing in that parade. Gotta keep them in line!

But I am crossing my fingers! I didn't march this summer, since Renegades is just too far on a student income, and I really miss my RCR friends... who happen to be mostly Freelancer Alums. Not to mention that I miss marching my old self around a field in 100+ heat!

FYI we have a lot of Sacramento people (even quite a few ex-rcr'ers) in the Renegades.
