Kingsmen HardCorps!

Post by GuyW » Fri Jan 25, 2008 5:56 pm

There is a new game in SoCal: the Kingsmen HardCorps.

...fans can expect to experience marching tympany and a smokin' drumline, a big hornline, and the world's best color guard - all wearing the historic blue cadets....in other words - the CA KINGSMEN live and in real time..

The Kingsmen HardCorps is a NEW all-age competition corps formed out of the Kingsmen Alumni Corps. It will focus on CA contests for 2008.

The Kingsmen Alumni Corps ALSO lives on and will continue to make public appearances, such as last weekends' NAMM opening and Disneyland gig.

Qualified members can choose to march one corps or two.

Membership information will be made available at the Kingsmen website, xkingsmen.com.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to be a part of drum corps history...

That "Hardcorps" is a very cool name. Love it! Looking forward to seeing real drum corps on the field in California!

Assuming 128 people show up...

Oh, and not to be a hair splitter (which is a polite way of saying don't be mad at me, but I am in fact going to split hairs), rarely did "old school" drum corps EVER reach 128 member, ESPECIALLY in the early 70's. Just a trivial point. I believe Vore was teaching corps at the time (and I'm not being a smart ass by saying that--he was literally teaching back then) and I think he can verify this urban legend.

first - Ryan is correct.

Second - check the date of the original post. This idea died before it really had a chance to live. Check out the several Kingsmen websites for the most up to date info on their plans. Depending on the day/week/month ypu will see information about several different plans run by a few different groups of "Kingsmen."

the website with the most accurate information... (to my knowledge) is the www.xkingsmen.com site - There are plans in starting up the all-age, winter guard, and junior corps.... the info above was and is a tad bit out dated...

If you're going to Chino today they have a booth set up I'm sure who ever is there can answer any questions anyone may have about the future of the Kingsmen organization and what their future plans are.

I saw them! I told them that you sent me and they though you went all the way to Chino. They had some G Baritones out and my non-dci history friendly section thought it was cool.

Also a VK stand next to it. VK cool, too.
