Phantom Phan's DCI Rankings (07/14/03)

Post by Hostrauser » Sat Jul 12, 2003 11:26 pm

Hruh? :? A tad early, aren't they?

Yes, due to a quirk of DCI scheduling, the only Division I corps to be performing on Sunday is Pacific Crest. Thus, to get the biggest possible sampling of scores, I've bumped things up a bit, taking scores from Wednesday through Saturday to formulate this week's rankings (instead of the normal Friday through Sunday).

And the same exact thing happens next week, too! :x

Rassin-frassin' DCI.

As for this week, strong performances out West have helped Phantom Regiment edge in front of the Cadets for #3 on the rankings (just BARELY), and they've also been kind to the Blue Knights and Magic of Orlando. On the other hand, Spirit has had a rough trip out West so far, and their ratings reflected it.

The 6-12 rumble continues to be as tight as ever. Just when you think a certain corps (Madison) is going to separate themselves from the pack, they stumble. This week, the Bluecoats are in the #6 spot. Who will be there next week? :D

One thing we do know for sure: it's shaping up to be a two-horse race for the DCI title in August.

Santa Clara is STILL in 5th... I dunno, I have to see everyones show before I make my decisions, but these are yours so... 5th is okay I guess! Better than not making finals!

My rankings are based on pure, mathematical calculations with no personal preference involved. Phantom eeked ahead of Cadets for this week, mainly because the Cadets had a weak Friday performance and Phantom had strong performances on both Friday and Saturday.

If personal preference were involved, Phantom would be closer to the top two, the Blue Knights and Seattle Cascades would be ranked lower, and the Mandarins would be ranked higher. :D

SCV's scoring currently has them in 5th. We'll see where they end up.

Based on Phantom's rankings (and what I've seen myself), DCI Championships is going to be one heck of a show. A lot of corps have stepped up this year (Phantom Regiment), and although they haven't competed yet, it looks like Blue Devils could be heavier competition for The Cavaliers this year. August will be an exciting month for sure, and I can't wait for Championships to come. Expect the unexpected.
