During Concert Season in Texas it is not unusual for many of the 5A Schools to enter 2nd and sometimes 3rd Bands in Concert and Sightreading Competiton. Most of the times, these Bands receive 2nd or 3rd Division Ratings since they are compared to varsity or 1st Bands. This is what made the recent concertperfo;rmance at UIL Region 20 for the Bands of Duncanville High School remarkable. All three Bands received straight 111 111 in both Concert and Sightreading which meant that 6 different judges thought that each Band was outstanding. Selections by each of the Duncanville Bands. Before you think it, students can only perform in one Band at UIL
Duncanville Band 3
Amparito Roca/Texidor
Triptych/Fry
Concord/Grundman
Duncanville Band 2
Beartrice and Benedict Overture/Berloiz
Chester Overture for Band/Schuman
Pathfinder of Panama March
Duncanville Band 1(Symphonic Winds)
Don Ricardo/Muscella
Variations on a Medieval Tune/Dello joio
The Pines of Rome/Resphighi
With this quality of performance there is very little doubt who will rate the highest this year in the UIL Final Concert Ratings.

Whoa. No wonder they're so strong on the field. Quite impressive. Now that's the mark of a strong program, when everyone pulls his or her own weight (straight 1's for a 3rd band????? that's near unheard of!) Congrats Duncanville!
