Two outstanding soloists are featured on the concert:

William Jones – Euphonium

William Jones is the principal and solo euphoniumist of the United States Air Force Concert Band, Washington, D.C. Originally from Stormville, New York Jones is a 1994 graduate of John Jay High School in East Fishkill, New York. He received a bachelor of music in euphonium performance, cum laude, from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. During his time in Pittsburgh, Jones recorded and toured extensively with the River City Brass Band playing baritone horn. WQED Public Radio featured his senior euphonium recital in its entirety on "Performance in Pittsburgh." Jones won the City Music Center at Duquesne Concerto Competition, earning him an opportunity to solo with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Recently, he has appeared as a soloist with The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own," The United States Military Academy Band at West Point, The Air Force Band of Flight at Wright Patterson Air Force Base Ohio and on three tours as tour soloist with The United States Air Force Concert Band. He has performed or lectured at the University of Michigan, Georgetown University, Northwestern University, The University of New Hampshire, Ball State University, Louisiana State University, West Virginia University and his alma mater Duquesne University. His former teachers include, Dr. Brian Bowman Barry Morrison, Murray Crewe, and Roger Hanson.


Brian Williams – Piccolo

Brian Williams has been the lead alto saxophonist/solo piccoloist with the Disneyland Band for the past six years. Brian graduated in 1980 from Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California. He received a bachelor of music in film composition, jazz composition and woodwind performance, cum laude, from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. As an active professional musician in Southern California for the past twenty-five years, Brian is known primarily for his arranging and his baritone saxophone playing as a regular member of the Jack Sheldon Big Band, the Tom Kubis Big Band and the Mike Barone Big Band. He also performs with small jazz groups including his own quartet. Brian has also been a member of bands backing up numerous well-known performers in live performances and recording sessions including Mel Torme, Johnny Mathis, Jack Jones, Four Tops,Spinners, Tommy Tune, Anita Oday, and Rosemary Clooney. Brian regularly performs "The Wren" as a solo piccolo piece with the Disneyland Band.
