What are people's favorite jazz artists?
Of course, it'll probably be difficult to make a specific list, but you can list a few.

im not so much into old jazz anymore, but more stuff like david sanborn, dave koz, and my current favorite, the brian setzer orchestra..

To be honest, since I play professionally, music doesn't relax me to listen to it recreationally. I love old time radio (OTR). But even these shows have great musicians.
For you fellow tubists, I suggest you listen to the Fat Man (American version, not the Australian version). The theme music is a virtuistic tuba solo. Most of the shows had wonderful orchestras. Radio stations used to hire a complete in-house orchestra that worked a full 35+ hour week on the air about 60-70 years ago.
There were also musical shows that were great, too.

i just recently got into jazz....right now im listening to alot of maynard...and alot of stuff that my jazz band instructor at school is giving me....im not sure who they are though...
