I can say that I do get tired of playing Pomp and Circumstance. (ex. 6 graduation ceremonies in 1 weekend, 30 loops of the melody for each ceremony)
And I loved Nimrod, Irish Tune, etc.

I truly feel for anyone who has to sit through Elgar's Pomp & Circumstance---I've played it through junior high [middle school for you young'uns], high school, and college [undergrad & grad years]. 12+ years of it!
BTW, it's worse for college, since you might have to play it for more than one ceremony in a 2-3 day period.[!]

I don't know why, but I just found those incredibly boring

the trumpet part on Intermezzo in Holst's First Suite in Eb. the cornet part takes up 2 pages, but the trumpet part is about a 16th of a page.

Take it from the tuba player... (who knows all about tacit movements)
You should never go to a rehearsal for pieces such as the Second Symphony by Jean Sibelius or the New World Symphony (the orchestra tuba part is the pits!) without a magazine, computer game (with headphones), or a novel. You never miss anything!
