This year the wind ensemble was the default pit orchestra for Annie, and it was HELL!

We did get a lot of compliments though, so that was nice. Lots of people commented on how much more professional it made the entire production to have a live band playing.

You had the entire wind ensemble in the pit? :shock: Yeah that would definitely suck haha.

The most amazing thing I ever saw on a stage was an opera by John Adams called Nixon in China. Operas use huge orchestas--but opera halls have huge pits! Anyway, the amazing part was when Air Force One landed in Beijing. The sounds of the airplane were created by some unusual violin techniques. They used a 3D picture of a 747 that looked as if an airplane was actually landing in the room.
