ATTN: TRUMPET PLAYERS
What's your range? Not just the occasional notes, but what is your consistent range. Are there any specific exercises you guys do to work on your range?
My consisten range is low F# thru Double G

What is this thing trumpet players have about range?
Rather than you guys talk about it, I'd rather hear the Taystee Brothers show what they can do:

And be nice... I said nothing pejorative in this post.

Roy Roman is still playing triple C's in the stratosphere and his credits are legendary. What's cool about Roy is that he used to say that range ain't squat if it isn't musical: you can't really say you own it until you can play it dynamically......
I had the pleasure of watching him duet with Maynard Ferguson when I was in college --- mindblowing. Every trumpet player in the audience was mesmerized by these guys [BTW, Maynard still sounds great, too].
