We played Variations on a korean Folk song last year for our concert band Festivals. We did really well, we also play Variations on an English folk song. Boy those got me mixed up lol. :)

Yeah we've played both in recent years. Neither of them for festival though, just concerts and stuff. I love Incantation and Dance it is a great work.

My HS tried it for awhile, but we voted it out cause we were lazy.

Yes, we are currently playing Incantation and Dance, and will be performing it at the Riverside regional on Friday. I have an mp3 file of our performance of it I can send you if you want. Plus, we played 'Variations on a Korean Folk Song' last year at Regional. We have an mp3 posted on our website at serranoband.org, if you want to hear it. im not sure if its the same but we play Korean Folk Rhapsody..or something like that. And "Prelude and Dance" Maybe its the easier versions of the songs?

edit to add: i totally messed up on saying korean folk rhapsody... it's Korean Folk Song. Heh, I rock the triangle in that one.

Heh! I sure did. Variations of a Korean Folksong, the two Holst suites, and Vaughan Williams' Folk Song Suite. You could probably list more, like Lincolnshire Posy. Everyone plays those. Multiple times, in my case.

Our School played Incantation and Dance, last year or the year before. Why do you ask? If I remember correct there are some weird parts in it, but it sounds cool.
Bari Saxes are hot stuff....
