What bari sax jazz mouthpieces would you recommend? I'm new at this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Personally, I myself prefer to use a Meyer 8. It's a really nice high quality hard rubber mouthpiece. You gan get a great, rauncy, obnoxious bari sound on it. I sware by it. It usually runs $120.

BTW, stay away from metal on bari. Trust me.

Berg Larsen is also good. 110/0 or 1 will work well, but make sure it is hard rubber, not metal.

My personal choice would be the Meyer 8 though.

Hey there!!
I've been playing bari for 4 years now and I've found that you need to buy a beginner mouthpiece for about the first year or so, it makes things easier to get used to the instrument. I use a Berg Larsen 110/2, it gives a great bass sound while still having clarity and quality. i've never tried a meyer mouthpiece for bari, but its a good alto mouthpiece. everyone seems to think its good so I hope my info makes you happy

Ya, Meyer has a really great reputation. I dunno about bari, but for alto and tenor it's great.

Also to everyone-what are your thoughts on metal mouthpieces? I realllly don't like the tone of them, and was wondering what you guys thought.
