Passing of a Legend (Adolph "Bud" Herseth, 1921-2013)

RIP to a legend, the principal trumpet of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for over 50 years (1948-2001), Adolph Sylvester "Bud" Herseth, who passed today at the age of 91. One of the finest trumpet players to have ever lived.

I have read stories about him. He was almost mistake free. According to Dale Cleavinger, principal horn who sat in front of Bud for over 20 years, he only heard him make a mistake once. That was in a rehearsal!

Guy was a beast. Even into his late-70s every time he played it was like watching a clinic on how to perform.
