Email received this morning contained this sad information:

Due to a potential government shut down - the US Army Field Band has been ordered to stop all performances and tours.

Even if a bill is signed late on April 8th - our concert for Sunday, April 10th has been canceled.

Their next scheduled travel to our area is Fall of 2013 and "being added to their list" is hopeful.

I was going to attend this one. I received an email too that their performances have been cancelled.

...oh well. There's always next time.

They have not all been cancelled. The Murrieta concert will still go on as scheduled. The word from my contact with the Band:
"We had to delay the start of the tour by a few days, but at this point
we'll be starting the tour this coming Wednesday and completing the
remainder of it as scheduled. If that changes for any reason I'll let
you know as soon as I know."

I will keep the board posted if anything happens affecting the Murrieta concert date.

Due to the uncertainty over the Federal Government budget during the
last several days, the U.S. Army Field Band was required to delay the
start of our spring tour until those budget issues were resolved. As
a result of this delay, the U.S. Army Field Band Concert Band &
Soldiers' Chorus performance on Sunday, April 10th, 2011, at Edison
High School has been canceled. We apologize for the late notice of
the cancellation and for any inconvenience this may have caused. We
appreciate your understanding in this matter and hope to see you at
another performance in the future. If you have any questions or
