I really like Fate of the Gods, but I find myself more into the October genre. I like the whole slow ballad thing. I like a piece with a lot of building chords. Plus the Euphonium solo in October is to die for... if played right.
Conan: "I really don't think you're that bad of a guy..."
Salesman: "Oh but I am...if you'll remember I just tried to sell you Baboon Adrenaline."

mine are...
wind ensemble:
Gum sucker's march (really hard it pushed me to get better)
Pageant (the trills are so cute!)
Orininal suite (hard too)
Symphonic Suite (pushed me to get better too...hard music rocks!)
concert band:
fate of the gods (really varying in styles)
American river songs
prairie dances (nice song...weird but nice!)
Gum sucker's march (really hard it pushed me to get better)

ya
for all u who said into the raging river was good, that is possibly the least musical song i have heard, it has terrible music content and is the easiest i have seen. It is boring to listen to. Overture to Candide is a good one, kudos to whoever put that. Fate of the gods sounds pretty bad too. as a rule guys,. almost anything by hal leanard is terrible, old music is where its at.
practice ur horn
Re: ya
ya, I'm going to agree with musicman on that one. Our wind ensemble is playing that piece right now, and it is really boring. It sounds like something a beginning band would play, but this is just my opinion.MusicMan wrote:for all u who said into the raging river was good, that is possibly the least musical song i have heard, it has terrible music content and is the easiest i have seen. I loved playing Masque. And I love hearing it, but the version I have is of ok quality.GreyFox112 wrote:Yeah, our bottom band played that last year...
I'd have to say my favorites are Masque by Kenneth Haskell, and (hehehe) Postcard by Frank Tichelli.
