Well, Mr. Mackey decided to do different sets for our competitions and our spring concert and other school performances. I guess we'll choose each set from the following pieces:

"American Overture for Band" by Joseph Willcox Jenkins
"October" by Eric Whitacre
"Children's March (Over the Hills and Far Away)" by Percy Aldridge Grainger
"Suite of Old American Dances" by Roger Bennet
"'Galop' from Moskow-Cheryomushki" by Dmitri Shostakovich
"Folk Song Suite" by Ralph Vaughan Williams
"La Oreja de Oro (Pasodoble Torero)" by Mariano San Miguel
"Dedicatory Overture" by Clifton Williams

And possibly some others, ending our spring concert with our march for this spring and next fall...

"Sonntag Ist's (It's Sunday)" by Ernst Stieberitz

that piece is so much fun to play.

There is a section in the 2nd movement where the whole band has a 3/2 measure except percussion and then all of a sudden, like 8 measures later, they have another 3/2 measure and the whole thing makes sense again.
