This list will get smaller or maybe larger as the school year progresses so we are not certain of which pieces will make our "final cut".

As I said it would, it changed. We have added a few

Third Suite (Jager)(3rd Mov't)
Tribute to Irving Berlin
Second Prelude (Gershwin)
Robin Hood (Kamen)
Smoke On The Water (Deep Purple) (interesting choice by my director)

Yes, I would agree. The fourth movement of Holst's second suite is really fun. What instrument do you play?

Seems like a lot of bands are playing "october" by Eric Whitacre this year.

Alright, the final list has been decided.

Third Suite (Jager) (3rd movement only)
Second Prelude (Gershwin)
Simoraine (Barraclough)

The Del Mar Band Review will be a "premiere" for Simoraine. It is originally a brass band piece and we will be playing it in Concert (Symphonic) Band.

Interesting that you're playing your parade march both on the street and inside. Unless Mr. Zuñiga changed it up again.

Well, since "Simoraine" is considered a concert macrh, it was said that it was ok for us to play it both on the street and in the concert hall. We did the same last year with "The Elephant". I just love brass band marches.

that's actually not very uncommon at the spring reviews. i've seen many groups play their street march in concert. never did it though.

I have heard a few bands this year at festival, and it seems like a big year for French horn or oboe features. they usually are nice.
