are highly disciplined & well trained athletes that combine dance with twirling skills & tricks. They are a bit different than typical majorettes wheras majorettes usually perform & march in a line formation along with the marching band performing basic to intermediate skills like windmills, grass-cutter finger twirls, 1-turns, etc., regular baton twirlers are usually more skilled, usually stay in one place on the field, are the feature twirler, do their own routine filled with constant movement, tricks, illusions, etc. Visit youtube.com & look up baton twirling & view the competition type video clips, you'll see what we twirlers can do as far as skill levels go. Twirlers can be male or female but are generally female.
