ok the chain makes several little circles with small rings connecting them. you need to weave your mace through the chain alternating what side the little circle ring goes on (where the chains *intersect* then attach the s hooks to the screws at the top and bottom of the mace, and tighten them down, if your chain is to loose you will need to cut links off accordingly.

Still don't really get it..

All right..
But I don't understand where the S hooks come in..
I thought it was just kind of like wrapping cords/tassels
Can you show a good picture perhaps?
I've been trying to find a picture but none are big enough for me to see how its connected to the top.
Thanks

one pair of s-hooks go on the screws near the balance point, and the other pair goes on the the screws on the tail.

after weaving your mace through the chains, you put the hooks on one end at a time, starting at the top. taking out one screw near the balance point and align the s-hook with the hole; then secure it with the screw. on the other side, take out the screw and align the s-hook with the hole, making sure that you position the hook in the same direction on both sides of the mace. secure that with a screw.

spread the chains down the shaft, making sure the all the links are positioned correctly. if the s hooks at the bottom don't align with the screws, you need to cut the links, or else you'll have a scratched up mace. after you align them, screw them on as you did with the top end.

you'll need to cut links off a few times, as it loosens with daily practice.
