How proficient are you with 4 mallets? Will this be your first solo?

Some early four mallet suggestions:

Sea Refractions by Mitchell Peters
Teardrops by Mitch Peters (3 mallet)
Cello Sonata in G, Prelude by Bach
Mbira Song by Gomez/Rife
Yellow After the Rain by Mitch Peters (this piece is usually the rite of passage for college freshman new to 4 mallets)
Any Musser Etude, C Major is the most popular

All of this music is available at www.steveweissmusic.com

Good Luck and and have fun.

Along with the Musser Etudes, B major is pretty good. I played C Major for my solo last year, adding a repeat midway through the piece (I forget the measure number) where I repeated the original theme an octave down. It was a cool effect and was fun to play.

If you're a little more advanced, doing one of the 2 Mexican Dances by Gordon Stout is a good option.
