how do you deal with a freshman bassplayer who cant come in on one? we were playing some exercise at practice today and im a pit player so i dont play on the drums a whole lot and we were playin this exercise and i was kinda just not paying attention after awhile cz it was repetitive, and this guy just starts yellin at me! one- i have senority over him two- dont need to be rude over something of just say "hey snap out of it!" three- when he can play his part in the field show, THEN he can talk to me. I mean ive got four mallets goin on at 200 tempo and this dude cant play on one. he yells at everyone and everything, and i can understand having bad days, but hes ALWAYS like that! I think hes still P-Oed cz i told him to shut up last year during championships. geepers, show a little respect for your fellow drumlines dude.. how would you cope? I cant deal with his attitude and our line is getting tired of it, i wanna smack him!!! (haha look im going all colorguard!!) okay the colorguard comment was bad.. but fits the sterotype for guard (no worries folks, my sisters are the leader peoples)

Well, if you aren't the captain, I would really just worry about paying attention, having your stuff together, and getting your own stuff done. I would maybe talk to the battery captain about what happened. If need be, maybe the battery captain, this bass player, and you can have a meeting about what exactly is bugging everyone and what everyone can do to get along better. If you honestly don't know what to do, and the battery captain is at a loss, then maybe it's time to go to your instructor. Just a few suggestions.
