i've seen ralphie jrs. used with younger kids or people with smaller hands...
they're pretty much like the ralphie srs. only smaller in size...

as far as taping them, my old h.s always taped them... all white with a blue and yellow trim

Hardimons are fantastic sticks. The indoor model is especially nice for reefing a ton of beats.
If you are going to play any rim shots with your marching sticks, you must tape them at least halfway down the stick so that they will last longer.

Hardimons were a very enjoyable pick when i marched snare. We marched Jim Casella signature stick (think they are now MS3's). Personally i like the response on Hardimons better, but thats a personally pref.

And about the taping, its a must. Shots eat sticks faster than i can down a #9 at Togos. Don't overdue it though. I marched with a guy who like quad layered his sticks...

I've been playing with hardimons on my quints this last week, and they are pretty shot up, and i did tape mine. I would have to say keep the snare sticks on the snare.

'nuff said.

they're alright. sometimes they seem too thick, which is why i prefer delucias. but that's just my opinion.

Hardimons are really easy to break or bust up... At our school we only use hardimons on pads and floats on drums.

I think that Ralph Hardimon drum sticks are great sticks and if you have big hands its even better. The indoor sticks are good and give you a nice reponce on snares, and if you have small hands & the Jrs are good for kids just starting out with little hands.

If you go through sticks and heads like water then tape is a must!

At Highland, we only use Pro-Mark. Snares-DC-9 Phantoms & Jeff Moore indoor stick for winterline, Tenors-ATA1 & ATA20i indoor tenor mallets for winterline, Basses-AB1-3 outdoor & AB30i and AB32i indoor mallets. Personaly I like Pro-Mark DC-1 Jeff Moore, and for tenors I like there Mike Steven's tenor stick.

 There is no way i would ever not tape my hardimons...I couldn't imagine how much faster we would go through them...Anyhow, other than going through them pretty fast, Upland's snare line uses em and they sound great. They have great response and a nice balance to them. As for any other pairs I really enjoy the Tom Aungst model and the Ralphie Jrs. I don't use because I prefer the regular model.
