Hey... yep yep so which do you prefer...

personally I love the rich and articulate sound you get out of Rosewood...

ofcourse rosewood keyboards cost an arm, a leg and then some...

(maybe thats why I don't own an instrument yet...)

Well if u can keep it indoors and not ever bring it outside I would say rosewood, but with the marching band activity i'd say kelon because its more durable to the weather.

Synthetic is much better for high schools, unless they're willing to have a rosewood instrument that they simply don't take outdoors. However, for concert, obviously, nothing beats the sound of a rosewood instrument, especially an 30's or 40's Deagan.

I rent an instrument from my teacher, which is an old Musser 4 octave. It sounds great, but rosewood definetly does not belong outdoors.

Rosewood does not belong outdoors in my opinion. But I see a variety of groups that have the money to replace the keys every year use them.

Alright my opinion... yes Rosewood belong indoors and indoors only... when it comes to out doors I prefer Kelon... Yammies Acoustalons (sp) are awesome outdoors...

I believe Vanguard and Phantom Regiment use Rosewood Marimbas outdoors. So I personally wouldn't say they don't belong outdoors. I think that is a poor statement. Try.....Unless you have a load of money to spend replacing keys every year (or an endorsement), you'd be better off long-term with Synthetic. Something like that. Soundwise Yamaha Acoustalons are my favorite of the synthetics. Just my opinion...
