it is up to the instructors to teach their students that modesty is the best policy.
take each comment with a grain of salt and dont worry about the talk.
try the best you can and go for the gold.

If someone professional said that wouldn't that be unprofessional? I dont think someone like that would. If anything they would say your drumline needs work.

It is very immature when you just intend to make fun or just rudely say that a drumline sucks. IF someone was to say that my drumline sucks, it wouldnt really matter because they dont know what they are talking about. Besides, who really cares what they think if they are not going to help you improve. On the other hand, if it is an instructor or anyone that would like to give some comments for improvement, I would value that judgement. Maybe its a little harsh in telling you straight out that your drumline sucks, but you know what, everyone sucks at one point, and it can sometime motivate you to do better. Even myself, I sometime think that other lines "suck" (not good), but it is an opinion and I keep it to myself. Really, you have to look at yourself and ask yourself, "Are you really anyone to make this comment."

Why Can't You Kids Just Get Along?

seriously! if somebody said that about either of the 2 schools i went to i'b beat them down so hard they'd be pissing tears.......but aside from that i think lines should support each other,i.e. my ex-instructor is 19, he went to silverado high & then taught @ serrano high which is about an hours drive from his high school, and he marched w/ black nights before, and w/ RCC this year and everybody got along just fine w/ him (when he wasnt yelling at us for doing something stupid or wrong).
i also went to murrieta & i love those kids & the kids from serrano, the point is- it shouldnt matter whose better than who or who sucks, if you ever have the opportunity to meet another drummer you should get along great. after all you have so much in common and you can all learn so much from each other. besides, drummers are a very fine and rare breed of a human,we have to stick together & keep the 'race' going.lol. :D

and if they dont like you then they're an a$$wipe or just a cocky ba$tard. :D

That's your last name? Really? Okay, I take back what I said about you keeping your jr. high sn - my bad.
Seriously though, you play in El Dorado's line, so there's not any reason for anyone to say you suck. Except for maybe Mr. Watson, 'cause that's just his way of expressing himself sometimes (must work, though). That's a first class program any way you look at it, so enjoy your last few weeks, remember the good times and don't sweat the small stuff.

with our drumline we too ignore them because sometimes at our school the people who say this don't even know what they are talking about. our instructor says that sometimes the only reason they say that is because thay wish they could it

okay quintdrummer is from vista and i want to appoligize for his stupidity. first of all that last sentence makes no sense at all. ummm our line doesnt have 5 people from div 1 corps like he said in a earlier post and we are not the best of the best. I know there are many other great drumlines out there that could drum our asses into the ground. Please igonre him until i can get him to stop posting stupid things. Thanks.
