jokes

i think one of the funniest times in drumline is when we were out on the field and the band was being worked with but the drumline wasn't moving at that point of the drill. so we got this temple block and this bell mallet and tried to make as many different things that we could with it. in like 5 minutes we had SOOOO many funny things. it was a very random day. good times.

well my drumline does somthin before every performence that is called reggie tai chi, dont ask me why its called that cause its been passed down through the drumline captains and Im only a sophmore. well what we do is we get in a circle and breath in really deep and clasp our hands then when we breath out we push our hands away from us then we put our hands behind our backs then lean back while breathing in then lean forward when breathin out. then lastly we put our hands behind our backs again then our drumline catpain counts to 3 then on 3 we yell at the top of our lungs. then after reggie tai chi we all smack eachother to get eachother psyched. it was funny, one day we had a practice run through then our director told us to circle up with our sections and hype eachother up and all of the other sections heard us and tried copyin us but it'll never be the same. so ya thats what my drumline does before each performence. :)

oh yeah. i should say something that has to do with anything...

i think it was leesah and i that started the sticks-in out of our gangsta-ness. huddle in circle. hold one stick in the middle. captain, assistant captain, instructors give mini pep-talks. 1-2-3 you know!

and we do the stick-click thing. that's good times. =)

On the buss rides, I usually listen to the first papa roach cd twice all the way through. it seems like good luck.

Right before going into competition, we say a prayer (even if some of us arent religious, its just good luck) and we all click our sticks together.
no longer dealing with high school ^_^

Hey Punkmehard nice topic. My new school has a ton of rituals. i for one listen to my music that is suposed to pump me up. We do a prayer before a competition, well 2 prayers. One is to the Troj. (long story but, we found it this year and its a frisbee like thing only fabric like and looks like a huge condom so we called it the Troj). It has been at the school though since some of us were still wearing diapers. Every one of the drumlines at our school have found it on the ground somewhere and we just put it in our drum closet. We also us guys do a perverted prayer that i wont get into and then slap each other as hard as we can. There is also the stick taping ritual which you can already guess. Then we had a war against the brass and cause they stole the troj even though we got it back and they tried to copy out ideas.
