On2 Percussion Drum Slips

Post by Powerhouse08 » Sun Nov 24, 2013 4:36 pm

Hey guys! There's a new company out called On2 Percussion. They are the makers of "drum slips." A plastic covering with pre-cut holes that easily and QUICKLY fit on Pearl, Yamaha, Dynasty, Mapex, and Tama marching drums. A few months ago I had mentioned on here that Golden Valley (Merced, CA) was selected as a beta tester for the product, and I can honestly say that working with On2 has been an awesome experience. The slips look great and are super easy to install and don't hurt the shells of the drums in any way. They also have a ton of custom designs to choose from, and are SUPER affordable! (snare slips are under $30). Check out their website!!

How about the sound of the drums? Is that affected in any way?

Nope. The slips are more than durable, yet no where near think enough to have any effect on the sound. They even have the little air holes cut out to match the holes on the orignal shell. I know that I've been on of those people to do the ol contact paper "new shell cover" process before. These are professionally designed slips that fit perfectly on the shells of tenor, snare, and bass drums.

I actually stopped doing contact paper and starting doing a custom wrap on our own (using real material).

I look forward to checking this out in the coming season :-)
