I'm looking forward to seeing all the groups in the next few weeks or so. There was an excellent NCBA winter percussion judges clinic that took place recently. We're all excited to make a great season. Have fun out there!

Well, my prediction.... THERE WILL BE SOME MOVEMENT IN THE DIVISIONS!! I can not believe that the ADVANCED division will be the same come APRIL 2ND at Loomis. I don't have a list of how the divisions are now... Yet, when I see Dublin/Laguna Creek and Granite Bay in ADVANCE... One of those three will schools (alone) will be in SCHOLASTIC in April. I say that as a compliment to those three three schools' programs. I will also make a long term prediction: NCBA WILL FINALLY HAVE AN EVALUATION SHOW.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF US!!

With some high schools having two full size gyms....those high schools (know of one) could easily host the "eval show" and as far as it being "fair" that a high school would get to host such a large show annually, we will need to discuss the finances. I understand that high school would receive $$$$$. Yet, couldn't NCBA & "SAID" high school negotiate some equitable financial resolution?? Since NCBA has gotten so large, I truly believe that an "eval show" needs to happen and happen at the same site & weekend each year. Just saying...
How can another circuit hosts - LET'S SAY 'CHAMPIONSHIPS' - at the same location and "we" (NCBA) look at that possbility and say, "NO." Let the people vote... Let the people vote...

So, here's how evals works in other conferances.
1. They are required. If you don't go, you don't compete.
2. They is no audience. You come, perform for the panel, and they place you in a classicfication. Each group gets about 15 minutes with the panel. Do the show, get a live evaluation from the panel, maybe a chance to do it again. You may not be even be in costume.
3. There are no show fees to participate. Again, because they are required.

So, you see, the "host" school is not getting much benifit for doing the evaluation, except for some concessions money if they choose to do it

Thank you Brad. Fair Enough. AS LONG AS THE HOST DOES NOT LOSE ANY $$$ (reimbursed for custodial staf; any other costs to use the facility), I would be more than happy to host an eval show. NCBA should consider this...
