Congrats bethel. They went on the earliest of all the groups and it was ridiculouslu freezing at like 945 when they went on so much props to them. Clean beats won the day.

I honestly thought rodriguez had them, at least until they're accel/modulation kicked in. From that point on it kinda fell apart. They definitely should compete in the open class this winter. The kids got the hands we just need to see if the show design can be up to par.

Fairfield (I know they were exhibition but...) Whassup...? That piece sounded a lot like spms a few years back. Ts the same piece and a lot of the music is the same. (I know this is gonna start some kinda beef, but no disrespect) am I the only one that noticed that?

I have to say that Bethel owned the day and G Bay owned the night. Both lines have incredible hands! (read that last sentence again just so you understand.)

If both of these lines stay together for winter they could take WGI Open class by STORM!!!! I hope someone you tubes both their championship runs and FAST!

Unfortunately the Granite Bay drumline will be blown up at the end of the fall season. We use winter to build for fall, and there is too much to do at the school to keep these kids locked into drumming, ie. theater, swimming, lacrosse, etc.
But, we will start planning an actual "Street" percussion performance like the other groups have instead of just playing part of our field gig whilst moving forward. As well as we play we should be competitive.
As for video, awaiting edits of the lot. Will have it tubed as soon as it's ready. Thanks

I got a chance to see most of the lines (I did miss Bethel however :x ) so here are my thoughts:

I agree mostly with the judges scores. Rodriguez was sick and they have improved greatly from when I saw them at Santa Cruz. A really nice line and I look forward to seeing them this winter. Vallejo was my third place pick and then Benecia. Vanden was good...but I also liked Franklin a lot (they improved a lot this year and were only .8 behind Vanden). I also enjoyed Mt Eden who put on a very entertaining show, but was nowhere close to clean and that hurt them. Granite Bay was CLEAN but I wish they did drill. Very good musicians at GB. Some other notables included Elk Grove and Granada. And a special note to Rosemont...I like the professionalism of your line...some really good beats...but hire a (good) drill writer and I think you can accomplish some good things.

All in all, a very entertaining morning.

Cali.

thanks for the link. much better quality. Watching it again really allows you to see the amount of control in that line. Bethel's honestly never sounded this controlled probably ever since the school's inception.
