The Winter Guard Association of Southern California (WGASC), the nation's largest pageantry arts association, wrapped up their 20th anniversary season in grand fashion this past weekend, featuring a two-day, six-site Grand Championship as well as a special Hall of Fame Ceremony. Over 340 championship performances captivated the hearts and minds of thousands of winter guard fans, and the WGASC awarded over $15,000 in scholarships and special service awards to deserving student performers. The WGASC Hall of Fame Ceremony saw the induction of its inaugural class of twenty of the nation's leading designers, directors and instructors, all with current or past ties with the southern California color guard and pageantry arts activity. The WGASC also led the way this year in the intergration of technology into the pageantry arts with the implementation of the "Digital Judging System" as well as partnering with Drum Corps International's (DCI) Fan Network to provide the highly-successful WGASC On Demand program, providing subscribers instant access to over 600 winter guard performances on video from the 2009 season.

Now entering its fourth season, the highly-anticipated and critically acclaimed WGASC Marching Band Open Series (MBOS) will provide more outstanding national-level adjudication and education for the region's marching band activity, utilizing a unique semi-finals/finals format and Grand Championship, providing even more exciting competitions across the southland for friends, family, and fans.
