I didn't notice how little the drumline was playing because the mallet line was smoking everyone else in the division. ^.-

And, you know, the beats is not everything for a good show. It's also the general effect and the performance which most groups have a problem with. And just plain looking up!!!

Agreed. Major props to the Rodriguez staff and their kids. Great show and design.

Um. there was a whole lot more after "twinkle twinkle llittle star" which if you looked at the cymbals it was meant to be abc's. The mallet line played more than there fair share of hard music. Plus, there were only two parts in the show where the battery wasnt playing.

whoa whoa whoa.....easy everyone. Yes, some people may have their own personal opinions, but all in all the race for scholastic was CLOSE. 83.9 AND 83.6 (champs and 1st) is hardly getting smoked, but Rodriguez did come out on top. Each group has their strengths and weaknesses.....this year was one of the most competitive, and surprising years in NCBA history. To me, every group brought something different.....which made this year one to remember. Congrats to everyone on an amazing season!!

You gotta expect a little backlash when someone makes an account just to bash a school.

"Hi guys this is my first post and I just wanna say school X shouldnt have beat school Y because they didn't play as many notes, and as you know the NCBA sheets clearly state that the group with the most black on the page wins."

I think Steve just created the NCBA "tick" system!

Its kind of reverse tic system:D

Me and Ben Prima were chatting about the subject after ncba finals at a party. (Thank you JBdrummerdude!) He was saying when he marched vanguard in 04 he thought blue devils would score more "points" than vanguard because they had better players. (Vanguard won high drums that year)

It turned into a discussion about how funny it would be if there was tic system that awarded point as apposed to taking away points.
