there used to only be like one class of colorguard way back when it first begun but as the groups began to have different levels of skill they divided them into open and world and so on and so on. i think you can read about it on the wgi website under history or somthing like that. its really interesting to see how the sport has progressed over the years.

You know that's a really good question. One I've never thought about, but now that you mention it....
color guard has come a loong way from just being "tall flags"
Go everyone!

The colorguards final at bellflower are for them to make up a 2-3 min. show. you can pick any song and you have use rifle, flag and dance. we also have know basics. lot of the group has to toss 3,4,5,6 and even 7. well good luck to all of you on your finals :D

Focus...Focus....Focus

Regional a and aa are the beginning guards. Easy shows with basic skills for just starting out performers.

Int A a little harder shows with more dancing and equipment combined.

Sch. A More mature performers but showing more harder stuff with equipment. Usually can go to a regional.

Open Your instructors and show choreographers say, "you should be able to pop a quad clean and smile and dance and brush your teeth"

World Your instructors gripe when you don't toss 5's clean and they want you to rinse and floss and do it all on one leg while spinning.

I like the brushing the teeth...my guard is a sch. A I hope they all brush their teeth!! The only thing I don't agree with is I put fives even sixes in their show and I expect them to do it and smile!! I think its all what the instructor and the guard can do if that makes sense...But other than that good job!
