Does anyone know if there is an actual store where you can buy flags, poles, etc.? If so, is there one in the Los Angeles/Long Beach area?

The only one I know of is Tom Peacock in Anaheim, but there are lots of places you can call and order or order online.

Bandshoppe.com is a great place to by equipment and uniforms. They are really cheap and you get what you ordered in about three to five days which is awesome
